# IMAP Migrator

> Web service that copies complete mailboxes between any two IMAP servers: every folder, the read/flagged state and received dates, server to server, without changing the source mailbox.

IMAP Migrator moves email between Gmail/Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Yandex 360, Zoho, iCloud, Yahoo, cPanel, Plesk and any other IMAP server. It is built for hosting companies, IT teams and businesses moving their domain's email to a new provider.

## How it works

1. Enter the source and target server (detected automatically from the email domain).
2. List the accounts or upload a CSV, or send invitation links so each person types their own password.
3. Validate the logins and get a size/time estimate and a target quota check.
4. Launch and follow progress per account and folder with a live action log.
5. Switch MX and run a final sync to bring over mail that arrived in between.

## Features

- Every folder, the read/flagged/answered state and the original received dates; Sent, Drafts, Trash and Junk are mapped to the target's own folders.
- Many accounts and folders in parallel; resumes after interruptions without creating duplicates.
- Delta sync and ongoing sync on a schedule until the MX switch.

- Faster uploads to Gmail through the Gmail API when the target is connected with Google sign-in.
- Mail, calendars and contacts from on-premises Exchange Server 2013–2019 over EWS, with IMAP switched off.
- Copies filters/rules, auto-reply and signature (Gmail, Microsoft 365, Sieve); shared mailboxes, folder and calendar sharing.

## Security and privacy

- The source mailbox is opened read-only; nothing is deleted or marked as read.
- Message contents are never stored; messages pass through our server in memory only.
- Mailbox passwords are encrypted and deleted within 24 hours after a run (for an ongoing sync, when the sync ends, 30 days at most).
- UK GDPR: users can download their data and delete their account themselves.
